The EasyLiving Home certification, as a recognized brand name, shows prospective buyers that the homes will be easy to live in not only today, but the future as well. The convenience of a step-free entry is immediately apparent – a feature homeowners will appreciate not only when grandmother comes to visit, but also when it’s time to move furniture or bring the baby’s stroller in from the car.”This program is designed to assist builders in implementing features to enhance convenience. These things make the home cost effective, attractive, accessible, “visitable,” and convenient for everyone,” stated Goodall. “Everything from strollers to wheelchairs can enter easily, and a 330-pound football player can move around comfortably. Even heavy, large furniture deliveries are less complicated. Also, the resale value is greatly enhanced.”

On Thursday, May 15, 2008, over 200 people attended the grand opening of Stonebridge by Goodall Homes and Communities. In attendance were local city officials, realtors, and potential residents. All were treated to an evening of food and music while they helped celebrate the opening of another new Goodall community. The event was catered by Chef Christopher, and the live music was provided by “Jake and the Half Conched Band “.The highlight of the grand opening was the ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil the two spectacular model homes. These models were professionally decorated by Melissa Sisk. The most noteworthy feature of the new Goodall portfolio of homes is the one-level living designs. Bob Goodall, President of Goodall Homes and Communities, is enthusiastic about this new aspect of Goodall Homes. “Stonebridge is setting a new precedence for all of our communities. We are aggressively moving forward with one-level living options because the market for these homes is strong.”

Response to Stonebridge has been vigorous. Due to the high demand at Stonebridge, development of Phase 2 has already begun.

Stonebridge occupies over 302 acres in Wilson County, located just off I-40; west of Mt. Juliet. The resort-style community will have over 800 home sites, including villas and townhomes. It will have an expansive 8,700 sq. ft. clubhouse featuring a main gallery, a large meeting room that will accommodate large groups, a billiards room, sales and homeowner’s association office, and a catering-style kitchen. This recreation area includes a large picnic pavilion with tables and BBQ grills, as well as park benches, shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pits, and a Bocce Ball court, all accessed by a walking trail. The afternoon event was attended by residents and their guests. Many residents participated in playing the games, while others enjoyed the lovely day relaxing with their friends and neighbors.

A community garden area is adjacent to the recreation area, and is designed to give the residents a place to plant vegetables, herbs, or their favorite flowers. The beds are elevated to allow for ease of planting and maintaining the crops or flowers.

Horticulturalist Clayton Humphrys of GreenSpace Designs, represented Rogers Nursery in Gallatin, spoke at an official opening of the gardening area. Lenox Place residents were afforded the opportunity to ask Humphrys many questions about planting and caring for plants, as well as pest control options.

“We hope everyone at Lenox Place will enjoy the gardening area,” stated Bob Goodall, President. “The homeowners at Lenox Place enjoy an active lifestyle, so the addition of the community garden area was a concept that we were excited about providing.”

rector, Debby Haddock, hosted the event for the residents. “As this community continues to grow, there are more and more opportunities for fun here at Lenox,” said Haddock. “With the Clubhouse, pool, exercise room, and now this outdoor recreation area, everyone can stay active by doing things they enjoy. The lifestyle here is wonderful.” Lenox Place, located off of the 109 Bypass in Gallatin, just south of Hancock Street, is being developed by Goodall Homes and Communities.

In 1808, Parke Goodall and his wife, Frances, and nine children moved to Middle Tennessee from Virginia. Now, 200 years later, great, great, great, great, great grandson and local developer, Bob Goodall, is celebrating his 25th year of building homes in Middle Tennessee.Goodall entered the homebuilding business after graduating college in 1983. He graduated from Lambuth University in Jackson, TN, and received a BA in Business Administration and Marketing. Since that time, Goodall has built over 2,700 homes in Robertson, Sumner, and Wilson Counties. There are currently nine communities being developed by Goodall Homes and Communities-each with unique features designed to attract the homebuyers of today.

When asked about how he has succeeded for 25 years as a homebuilder, Goodall responded, “We build every home as if it were our own-with integrity and professionalism.” Goodall stated that there are three types of homebuyers that make up the majority of the market today: empty nesters, retirees, and first-time homebuyers. His developments strive to meet the needs of these demographics.

For example, Magnolia Village, in White House, consists of single family homes that are sized to be attractive to empty nesters, as well as being affordable for first-time buyers. Lenox Place, located in Gallatin, consists of 250 condominium homes. This community is specifically designed for ages 55 and better homeowners, either already retired or looking to downsize. Offering even more variety is Stonebridge in Lebanon. This community offers “resort-style living” with impressive amenities, such as an 8,800 sq. ft. clubhouse and large swimming pool. It combines condominiums and single family homes to attract a broad segment of today’s homebuyers.

Goodall has recognized the trends that people have looked for during his 25 years of building experience. One Level Living has become a featured component of new Goodall Homes, making his developments popular in Middle Tennessee.

Goodall’s success has led to involvement in many civic organizations. He was recently voted to be the 2008 Chairman of Forward Sumner, serves on the “Gallatin On the Move 20/20 Steering Committee”, and is a member of the Visibility Committee for the State of Tennessee.

A cake cutting celebration will be held to commemorate Bob Goodall’s 25 years of homebuilding at 1:00 p.m. on May 10, 2008, at Cambridge Farms in Gallatin, another Goodall community. The public is invited to share in this celebration.
